it's Usagi's twin brother Kisnyúl, by the way. :) he's hungarian.
obviously, they were born in different places.
Usagi is older and was born in Japan, so her parents decided to name her in Japanese.
Kisnyúl is younger and was born in Hungary. the story's really just about the same, only in different places & languages. but whatever :)
